DAAD Proof of Language Skills (Sprachnachweis)
What is the DAAD Proof of Language Skills? |
Please note that the DAAD-Sprachnachweis is not an internationally recognised exam. It takes the form of a half-hour interview with reading and writing components. After the interview the assessor will fill in the DAAD-Sprachnachweis form for you. The aim of the DAAD assessment is to screen students who will be going abroad for work placements or internships or for short-term university exchanges.
The assessments are conducted by the lectors (Lektorinnen und Lektoren) of the English Seminar.
Test Procedure |
The assessment takes the form of an interview with one of the English lectors from the English Seminar. It lasts about half an hour and you will be expected to read an article (usually from a respected newspaper or journal) and comment on it. You will propably have to talk about your studies and your plans and academic interests. Finally you will have to write about a page on similar issues.
Preparation |
The best way to prepare for the assessement is to get into the mood by listening to English (e.g. BBC or TED.com talks) and reading and speaking English as much as you can before the interview.
Grammar is not tested separately.
